About Us
At Pretty Unique Boutique, we are passionate about building a strong and supportive community.
Our gift shop, based in Cumbernauld, stocks a range of local handmade and artisan products, as well as pre-loved items such as clothing, furniture and jewellery.
Founded in 2016, Pretty Unique Boutique CIC is a non-profit company looking out for the local interests of people in Chryston, Muirhead, and the surrounding villages in North Lanarkshire.
Caring for the planet and one another, we take pride in providing a community space where people can join craft classes and workshops or simply enjoy a cuppa and a chat with new and like-minded people.

Frequently Asked Questions

WHY BE A COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY RATHER THAN A CHARITY?While charitable status has various advantages for the majority of organisations operating for the public benefit, community interest companies (CIC) are typically set up by entrepreneurs who want to do good in forms other than charity. Reasons may include: Flexibility and Adaptability – They are looking to work for the community benefit, but with the relative freedom of the non-charitable company structure to identify and adapt to new circumstances, while still maintaining a clear assurance of not-for-profit distribution status. Wider Community Interest – The definition of community interest for CICs covers work outside of the public interest test for charity organisations. Social Enterprise – Some organisations are more suitable for social enterprise status than charity status.
